Background Checks

The Society is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation and to continually assessing and evaluating its Child Safe strategies to ensure that we are vigilant in our work to support and protect children.

C. National Criminal History Check (NCHC)

(Not applicable if under 18 years of age). 

The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW will email you a link with instructions on how to complete the NCHC. The Society pays for all NCHCs.

By completing this application, I understand that I will not be offered membership with the St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) until background checks have been completed, and that any offer of membership does not constitute an offer of employment.

I agree:

  • To provide excellent service to people seeking assistance.

  • To act consistently with the mission, vision, and values of Vinnies in all member activities.

  • To comply with Vinnies Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures that apply to members.

  • To comply with any reasonable and lawful directions of any person Vinnies delegates to supervise membership activities.

  • To Vinnies lawfully using my personal details to administer programs and communicate with me about Vinnies and its activities. I understand that my personal information will be kept securely and used only if required for identification and compliance purposes.

  • Not to disclose confidential information about Vinnies that I learn while performing membership duties unless specifically authorised to do so or required to by law.

  • To make reasonable efforts to ensure my personal health and safety, and that of others in the workplace, to comply with reasonable and lawful directions (such as wearing personal protective equipment) given by Vinnies leaders for health and safety purposes, and to advise my supervisor of changes to my health or capacity, that may affect my ability to perform my role.

I understand that if any information I have provided is found to be false or misleading, I may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including the cessation of my membership.
